Setup Assistant guides you through the following quick and easy steps you need to complete before you begin using your new MacBook.

  1. Choose your country or region to set up your language and time zone.

  2. Connect to your Wi-Fi network. If you need to change your network later, you can do this by selecting the Wi-Fi icon on the menu bar.

  3. Transfer your data if needed. Follow the steps to Transfer your data to your MacBook here. (INSERT LINK)

  4. Sign in to your Apple ID. If you don't have an Apple ID yet, you can set one up at this stage.

  5. Enable Siri. Speak several Siri commands to set this up. Setup Assistant will help you with this.

  6. Set up Touch ID. Adding your fingerprint during setup is easy with the onscreen instructions. Or choose to set this up later.

  7. Set up Apple Pay. You can set this up for one user account, meaning other users can use Apple Pay but the purchase must be confirmed on their iPhone or Apple watch.

  8. Choose your display settings.

It's that easy. You even have the option of skipping some steps to complete later, if you're not ready to set everything up straight away.
